Devotional – Philippians 1

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Have you ever been at a loss on how to pray for someone? You know that they need prayer, they need you to call upon our heavenly Father to minister to them, but you just don’t have the words, you just don’t know how to pray, you just don’t know what to say. Well, if that has ever happened to you, or if you come to a moment were your experiencing that kind of loss, don’t worry about it; simply pray the prayers of Paul. Pray this prayer just substitute the name of the person you are praying for where the word “you” is – And it is my prayer that [Sally’s] love… Here’s another suggestion, pray this prayer for yourself. Ask God to increase your love that it may abound, pray that your love may increase in knowledge so you can be discerning, pray that your love may increase that you may be pure and blameless, pray that you may be filled with the fruit of righteousness. This prayer is for all believers even yourself, so don’t run past this prayer in your reading, but make it a prayer for yourself, make it a prayer you pray for yourself. Why? Because it’s a prayer that God will always answer yes. So, pray with confidence and assurance that you are praying God’s will for your life, knowing he will answer.
