24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
What confidence do you have in your salvation? If you are looking to yourself to keep yourself saved through your obedience, then let me just be blunt – you will never make it! But when we look to the one who is able to save us and keep us saved, when we believe the promises he has made to give eternal life to all who trust in him, when our dependence for salvation is completely in him, then we will be saved. Christ and Christ alone is able to keep us from stumbling so that he may present us blameless in the presence of God. This is guaranteed by the sealing of the Spirit given to us as a deposit of the glory to come (Eph. 1). Therefore, do not trust in your works, even your good works, to save you, don’t trust in your own strength or power or effort, but trust wholly in the Savior – Jesus Christ our Lord.
